Director of Bands, Luke Manning

Mr. Luke Manning graduated from Troy State University with a Bachelor’s in 2005 and Troy University with a Master’s Degree in 2012.  While at Troy Mr. Manning served as section leader (2002 & 2003) in the Sound of the South as well as Vice President (2003) and President (2004). Mr. Manning also was a member of the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra from 2003-2005 as a member of the horn section. 

Mr. Manning has been teaching in Alabama for 17 years and is starting his  9th year at Calera High School.  Prior to his moving to Calera, Mr. Manning served as the Director of Bands at Escambia County High School in Atmore, AL from 2005 to 2007. After moving from Atmore Mr. Manning moved to Brewton, AL and served as Brewton Middle School Director of Bands and Associate Director of Bands at T.R. Miller High School from 2007 to 2013. Mr. Manning has also served as a minister for the Pell City Church of Christ since 2017.

Mr. Manning is a member of National Assocaition For Music Education, Alabama Band Director's Association and the Shelby County Band Directors' Association and currently serves as President. His bands have traveled throughout the U.S. and consistently obtained superior ratings at a wide variety of competitions and festivals.

Mr. Manning has been married to his childhood sweetheart, Emily for 17 years. They have 4 children; Ethan (11), Ezra (9), Eli (6) Lydia (3)


Auxiliary / Color Guard Sponsor, Ashlee Hall

Mrs. Hall received her bachelor's degree in special education at Jacksonville State University in the spring of 2016. There she was a member of the Marching Southerners flute line for 3 years, and color guard for 2 years. She was also a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, a women's fraternity for music.

This will be Mrs. Hall's sixth year in education. Before Calera, she was at Vincent Middle High School. There she taught special education, and was the sponsor and choreographer of Vincent's auxiliary line. She is very excited to be a sponsor and choreographer for the color guard at Calera this year. She will be teaching special education lifeskills this year.

Mrs. Hall is married with 2 furbabies. Deuce-caboose, a mutt hound dog (12) and Podrick, tuxedo cat (4).
