Director of Bands, Luke Manning
Mr. Luke Manning graduated from Troy State University with a Bachelor’s in 2005 and Troy University with a Master’s Degree in 2012. While at Troy Mr. Manning served as section leader (2002 & 2003) in the Sound of the South as well as Vice President (2003) and President (2004). Mr Manning also was a member of the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra from 2003-2005 where he played 4th Horn.
Mr. Manning has been teaching in Alabama for 16 years and is starting his 8th year at Calera High School. Prior to his moving to Calera, Mr. Manning served as the Director of Bands at Escambia County High School in Atmore, AL from 2005 to 2007. After moving from Atmore Mr. Manning moved to Brewton, AL and served as Brewton Middle School Director of Bands and Associate Director of Bands at T.R. Miller High School from 2007 to 2013.
Mr. Manning is married to his childhood sweetheart, Emily. They have 4 children; Ethan (8), Ezra (6), Eli (4) Lydia (1). The Manning's have two cats (Patch and Socks) and one chicken (Hot Dog).
Assistant Band Director, Amy Lee
Auxiliary Sponsor, Jenni Spradlin
Mrs. Jenni Spradlin has been teaching for 11 years in the state of Alabama, and she has been at Calera High School and working with the band for 4 years. She has experience teaching many subjects including English, AP Language, Theatre Arts, and remedial reading.
Mrs. Spradlin enjoys spending her free time with her husband and two children, Liam (2) and Sophia (7). She is currently working towards her Masters degree in Secondary Education at the University of Montevallo.
Mrs. Spradlin marched trumpet as a Montevallo Troubadour in high school. She marched as mellophone section leader in Teal Sound Drum and Bugle Corps (DCI) in the summers of 2003-2005. She also marched mellophone in the Million Dollar Band in college at the University of Alabama.
Mrs. Spradlin has been an auxiliary sponsor for the past three years, and she is excited to continue this role into the 2020-2021 season!
Auxiliary / Dance Sponsor, Bethany Aultman
Ms. Bethany Aultman has been shaping the lives of her students and dancers in Shelby County Schools for the past 4 years.
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Ms. Aultman spent her adolescent years dancing as a member of the Hoover High School Buccannettes.
Ms. Aultman was also a Tiger Paw dancer at Auburn University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in the fall of 2003.
Ms. Aultman still enjoys dancing and spending time with her family.
Auxiliary / Dance Sponsor, Charlotte Mizell
Ms. Charlotte Mizell has been teaching for 10 years and is new to Calera High School. Ms. Mizell teaches FACS (Family and Consumer Sciences) classes and is an auxiliary sponsor.
Ms. Mizell is married with 2 daughters ages 9 and 3. Ms. Mizell is originally from Bibb County where she marched and played the clarinet for 5 years during high school. She likes to spend her free time at the dance studio where her girls take dance.
Ms. Mizell is looking forward to a great year!
